Chance for the coffee sector to shape national climate frameworks

Hamburg, April 15th, 2015 – You are an NGO based in a coffee producing country, struggling to finance your activities on climate change? You are a local institution and are concerned with the severe consequences of climate change on the production systems – but unclear about how you could intervene?

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) just opened a unique window of opportunity for you:

Developed and developing countries are currently submitting their national post-2020 climate action commitments, known as Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs). These commitments will form the foundation of the 2015 climate agreement.

Make sure that the coffee sector is recognized in the action plan of your country. How?

Have a look at the Guide for Financing Climate-Related Activities in the Coffee Sector within the context of INDC process in 2015.

This document is intended to help the coffee sector take advantage of this “window of opportunity” and partner with governments on climate change initiatives.
