Vietnam's Central Highlands & the effects of climate change

Buon Ma Thuot, Vietnam - March 12th, 2017 - coffee&climate recently published a policy brief on the effects of climate change in the Central Highlands region of Vietnam that was distributed to hundreds of participants and government officials during the 6th Coffee Festival in Buon Ma Thuot, Vietnam. The policy brief covers the effects climate change will have on the global coffee supply as well as identifying that the Central Highlands are warming faster than the Earth's average which in turn is creating drought conditions along with pest and dieseses not seen before, just to name a couple. The policy brief also gives insightful data on rainfall, temperature change, and the conditions in which the coffee trees are suffering. The brief lays out very practical and useful policy recommendations which help farmers combat these dramatic changes in climate.
